Mr. Sylvance A. Sange -Managing Director

Mr. Sylvance Sange is the Managing Director of Kenya Industrial Property Institute following his appointment by the Institute Board. Before his appointment, he had served at the Institute in various positions, including the Acting Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director (Technical Services), Principal Examiner, Chief Trade Mark Examiner, Trade Mark Examiner and Patent Examiner. He has been in the Industrial Property field for 23 years.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Bachelor of Laws degree both from the University of Nairobi. He has a Masters’ degree in Intellectual Property from Franklin Pierce Law Center, New Hampshire, USA. He was once a fellow with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as a Research Scholar in the field of nuclear techniques at Clemson University, South Carolina, USA.

His tenure will see the Institute progress further in the implementation of KIPI Strategic Plan with a focus on conducive work environment, efficient service delivery, good corporate governance, effective collaboration and partnership. The cited priority areas are in the forefront of the Institute’s realization of its strategic objectives and sustainability in line the Kenya Vision 2030.
