An applicant may Claim Priority from a Previous foreign application under the terms of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property. An application claiming priority must be filed in Kenya within 6 months of the earliest application made to protect the same design in a country that has signed the Paris Convention.
Information required from all applicants claiming Priority
The name of the Convention country, number and date in which the previous application was made must be given.
Priority Document. This consists of a copy of the original filing, including representations, officially authenticated by the design's registration authority with whom the original filing was made. A certified translation into English of the Documents should also be supplied if English is not the language in which the Documents are written.
