Common Manufacturing Facilities Programme.

Joshua Nyakundi (2nd Right) of the Institute's Research, Innovation and IP Information Division holds a hide undergoing processing with, among others, entrepreneurs like Evans Obanda (Right) and Raphael Oguta (Left) during the Institute’s officers visit to the Kenya Industrial Research & Development Institute (KIRDI)'s Leather Development Research Centre (LD-RC) in Kisumu on 7th March, 2024.

The Institute, in partnership with State agencies like Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) and Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA), visits entrepreneurs like Messrs Obanda and Oguta at their work places to sensitize them on how to leverage on intellectual property to boost their productivity and competitiveness in the market.

KIRDI hosts for start-up industrial entrepreneurs in the leather sector that have business ideas but lack complete set of production equipment for commercial operations under its Common Manufacturing Facilities  Programme.
