Public Notice on Launch of Online Trademark Filing
aunch of the Trade Mark Online Filing System
The Institute is pleased to announce a significant milestone in our commitment to embracing digital transformation in enhancing service delivery. This is in line with the Government's digitalization of public services aimed at improving efficiency, accessibility and inclusivity as spelt out under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA)'s 5th core pillar, the Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy.
We have officially launched our new Trade Mark Online Filing System designed to streamline the application process for industrial property (IP) rights. With this new system, clients can now file and make payments for Trade Mark Applications entirely online, from anywhere and at any time.
This is in addition to the already operational Patent Online Filing System that allows clients to file and make payments for National patents, industrial design and utility models applications.
The e-Filing Systems are expected to bring benefits including 24/7 convenience whereby clients can file their applications outside of the traditional office working hours, ensure faster processing and enhance cost-effectiveness thereby saving on travelling, printing, and physical document handling costs.
The e-filing portals are live and accessible via the KIPI website under the e-services menu and also at:
For Trade Marks: https://trademarkonline.kipi.go.ke/efiling/
For Patents: https://patentonline.kipi.go.ke/efiling/
Additional information on how to use the e-filing system is available on the Institute's website www.kipi.go.ke. Clients and members of the public are encouraged to use these platforms. For any assistance, contact us on Tel: 0720020020 and 0736002020 or email ict@kipi.go.ke.
The Institute remains dedicated to fostering innovation and protection of IP in Kenya. The launch of this e-filing system is a testament to our ongoing efforts to modernize our services and better serve you.
